    “Buhari on Wednesday approved the reduction in the cost of forms for the JAMB, NECO and the Basic Education Certificate Examination fees.
    With effect from January 2020/2021 , the cost of UTME Form will drop from N5,000 to N3,500 while that of NECO will drop from N11,350, to N9,850.” Similarly, fees for the Basic Education Certificate handled by NECO has been reduced from N5,500 to N4,000.

    This was made known at the weekly Federal Executive Council held Wednesday, where the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, announced that “the President has directed the ministry to look into the reduction following the significant improvement in revenues being remitted to the treasury by the education agencies.” Any update will effect the change immediately.

    Parents/guardians should guide their wards in carefully filling the
    enrolment forms to ensure names are arranged properly and the correct
    date of birth is registered. “Where an applicant is below 16 years, such
    applicant (s) would be required to provide the NIN of his/her parent or
    guardian and they must confirm that all information supplied to the
    enrolment officer on the applicant’s monitor in front of them at the point
    of registration is correct.

    *The JAMB 2020 Mock Exam has been slated to hold on 18th February, 2020. The Mock exam is a replica of the actual exam, conducted by JAMB, and only candidates who register early for the actual exam will be selected to write the exam. That means if you intend to be selected to write the mock exam, you need to be among the first set of candidates to register for 2020 UTME. Registration begins on January 13*

    JAMB announces cut-off marks for varsities, others


    The 20th Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria has approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission for the year 2020 into public universities.

    The meeting held virtually, on Tuesday, also approved 140 as minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination score for admission into private universities.

    For public polytechnic, 120 UTME score was approved, while 100 was approved for Colleges of Education, innovative enterprises and institutes.

    During the meeting, JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, urged tertiary institution heads not to increase admission screening charges above N2000.
