well, I was merely passing on an idea - about patent and open-source.
I have dealt with patents in the past. here is one of my clause:
that it can be copied only after a specified time and that the original would have been developed to a point before any copy or variant of it would be allowed.
well, it was the first they'd heard of it and it was allowed - it worked out. why? it's my creation/invention and I am at liberty to share
I never implied that open source can be patented. I only implied that one can choose how to share what.
BTW, patenting protects the patentee as much.

after all, patency itself was an idea that was created/invented.

or maybe I should have called it a freeware licensing.

And by the way, I never said anything about getting services for free, I simply pointed out that everyone has his area of expertise and not everyone here is as computer savvy as u so called gurus like to think. U guys flood the threads with pages upon pages of useless info that requires a newbie to hav to practically claw thru a haystack to find a pin. If u r really gurus, u wnt b doin ur trial and error testing on the thread but will hav a reasonably finished tweak that would require minor touchups. And dats my point. An example is Ocaxts. He creates his tweak and tests it b4 posting it and is always on hand to answer questions and solve issues. Thats a guru. most others here are wannabes I'm afraid.

Oh, I can fathom alright and I certainly can make sense of whatever is said on here. I simply make a case for those who cant. And yeah, I do agree that this is a forum but this forum is divided into threads any one can setup a thread to discuss stuff that concerns 'gurus' and quit confusing the newbies dat u r supposedly trying to help. It certainly helps no one to scroll thru so much dross jst to fin an answer that might not even b dere at all. Its simple, create a gurus thread and discuss all ur technical details dere, then get people to stop posting silly posts on the tweak thread about hw dey hav downloaded the whole library.
I hav said my piece. Anybody whi doesnt like it....thats ur cup of tea. Drink it as u like.
